TORONTO ROCK TRADE IAN RUBEL TO MINNESOTA SWARM

TORONTO -The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club have traded Ian Rubel, a defender for the Rock since 2002 to the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for their second round selection in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft. Due to club policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The emergence of our young defenders created a difficult situation for Ian getting into the line up”, says Mike Kloepfer, Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Toronto Rock. “He has been a true professional during his career as a Rock player and will be missed.”

The Rock (5-3) host the New York Titans this weekend on Friday March 14th at 7:30 p.m. EST before Jim Veltman, Bob Watson and Peter Lough head to Edmonton to represent the Rock in the 2008 NLL All-Star Game on Sunday March 16th 2008 at 4:00 p.m. EST.
